The Digital Sovereignty Alliance (DSA) participated in the Payments Innovation Alliance Fall Meeting hosted by Nacha. The event took place from October 14 to 16 at the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile in Chicago, Illinois.

Senior Policy Advisor Molly Woodman represented the DSA, engaging with industry leaders on regulatory developments and the future of global payment systems. The discussions addressed operational challenges and the integration of emerging technologies within the financial sector.

A key focus of the meeting was the Next-Gen Currency Project Team, a joint initiative between Nacha and the DSA. This team investigates the use of digital assets, such as stablecoins and tokenized deposits, for money movement.

The project aims to create tools that connect digital assets with traditional payment infrastructure. The team also tracks regulatory changes and provides educational resources to help financial institutions navigate evolving frameworks.

Participants explored specific operational topics, including agentic payments, the reliability of multifactor authentication, and Know Your Agent (KYA) frameworks. The sessions emphasized the need for industry collaboration to address regulatory gaps.
