DeepSeek has launched its Search and Fetch APIs, enabling real-time web content retrieval for agents and RAG applications. Both interfaces use the company's proprietary search engine and return data in JSON format.
The service is billed at ¥5 per 1,000 successful requests. Charges apply only when the Search returns non-empty results or Fetch successfully retrieves page content with a 200 HTTP status code.
Usage is limited to 5 queries per second for each API. The Search API allows queries of up to 128 characters and returns customizable result counts between 1 and 50.
An API entry labeled deepseek-v4.1-flash-1017 briefly appeared in the official list before being removed. DeepSeek has not provided official confirmation regarding this specific snapshot.
The company also released DeepSeek Harness v0.2.1-rc1, introducing new features such as plugin management, experimental Claude Code Mods compatibility, and enhanced developer tools.
