DeepSeek has released its updated V4.1-Flash-1017 AI model, which the company describes as a more compact and faster iteration compared to its predecessor. This update is intended to strengthen the developer's position against both domestic rivals like Moonshot Kimi and Z.ai, as well as international competitors including OpenAI and Anthropic.
The new model offers improved performance across reasoning, coding, agentic tasks, and visual benchmarks. It is currently accessible via the company's web interface, mobile application, and developer platform. The model supports various applications, ranging from game development to 3D modeling, though the company classifies this release as a minor update to the V4.1-Flash series.
Recently, DeepSeek experienced a five-hour server outage, which some analysts attribute to a shortage of computing resources. The service has faced recurring slowdowns and connectivity issues in recent months. These technical difficulties are likely linked to high infrastructure loads driven by significant demand from developers attracted by the company's aggressive pricing strategy.
