During the first nine months of 2026, the .rf domain zone grew by 4.29%, reaching 812,400 registered names. In comparison, the .ru zone expanded by 2.71%, totaling 6.2 million domains. The Coordination Center for TLD .ru/.rf reported that the growth rate for the Cyrillic zone more than doubled compared to the same period in 2025, when it stood at 2.04%.

The acceleration in the .rf zone is attributed to increased focus on the Russian language and new state language legislation that took effect on March 1, 2026. In March alone, the growth rate reached 1.1%, up from 0.3% the previous year. Additionally, since 2025, the .rf domain has allowed registrations in 18 official languages of Russia's republics.

By the end of the nine-month period, 379,385 administrators were managing domains in the Cyrillic zone, with an average of 671 new registrations daily. Web applications and landing pages accounted for 31.1% of usage, while standard websites made up 23.8%. Parked domains represented 25.3%, email services 12.2%, and redirects 7.6% of the total.
