The investment round was led by CDP Venture Capital Sgr, with additional participation from Mistral and Vertis SGR. The latter invested through its Vertis Venture 6 Digital Sud fund, which receives partial financing from the European Union’s Next-Generation EU program.
Clastix was established in 2020 by engineers Adriano Pezzuto and Dario Tranchitella. The company focuses on infrastructure software designed to lower operational costs for large-scale Kubernetes deployments. Its core technologies include the open-source project Capsule and the Kamaji control plane engine.
The startup has integrated these tools into kMetal, a commercial platform currently utilized by organizations such as NVIDIA, Fastweb, and Mistral. The software is designed to provide enterprises with infrastructure control, serving as a European alternative to hyperscaler-dependent solutions.
The company intends to allocate the new funding toward product development, customer support, and market expansion. Over the next three years, Clastix plans to increase its headcount to support larger enterprise clients and enhance its AI-scale workload capabilities.
Clastix will continue to maintain Kamaji as a free, open-source project under the Apache 2.0 license. The leadership team emphasizes that the investment will help build the infrastructure layer necessary for the next phase of AI development in Europe.
