The Chinese Ministry of Transport has identified 79 highway service areas expected to face heavy demand for electric vehicle charging on October 6. This surge coincides with the end of the National Day holiday, as travelers return home.

The provinces of Hunan, Hebei, and Guangdong are expected to experience the highest concentration of busy charging stations. Drivers can monitor the real-time status of charging piles via the e Lu Changtong WeChat mini-program.

Data indicates that charging demand during the holiday follows a pattern of dispersed departures and concentrated returns. Daily charging activity typically spikes starting at 10:00 and begins to subside after 21:00.

The peak period for charging is scheduled for October 6, specifically between 10:00 and 22:00. Officials noted that the average daily volume of new energy vehicles on highways during the holiday is 1.8 times higher than on regular days.
