China has successfully launched its 25th batch of SatNet low-orbit communication satellites. The mission was conducted by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) from the Wenchang spaceport located in Hainan province.
The launch utilized a Long March-12 (CZ-12) carrier rocket, which lifted off at 03:32 Moscow time. While official sources did not disclose the number of satellites, data from SpaceLaunchSchedule indicates that nine units were deployed into low Earth orbit during this flight.
This mission marked the eighth flight for the CZ-12 rocket series and the fourth launch of this specific vehicle in 2026. The liquid-fueled rocket measures 62 meters in length and is capable of delivering at least 12 tons of payload to low Earth orbit.
The SatNet constellation is operated by the state-owned China Satellite Network Group. The project aims to eventually deploy a total of approximately 13,000 satellites to provide global internet coverage as part of China's expanding national space program.
