China has successfully launched the 27th batch of satellites for its SatNet constellation, also known as Guowang. The project serves as a state-backed alternative to SpaceX's Starlink, designed to provide global broadband internet access.

The launch took place on October 10 at 03:27 local time from the Wenchang commercial spaceport in Hainan province. The mission utilized the two-stage CZ-12 rocket, developed by the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).

The CZ-12 rocket uses liquid fuel and reaches a length of 62 meters with a starting thrust of 5000 kN. Its fairing diameter is either 4.2 or 5.2 meters, allowing it to carry a payload of at least 6 tons to a 700 km sun-synchronous orbit.

This mission marks the fifth flight for the CZ-12 rocket in 2026. China continues to expand its space infrastructure, which includes telecommunications, navigation, and meteorological satellites, alongside lunar and planetary exploration programs.
