CesiumAstro has secured $730 million in a Series D funding round led by Janus Henderson. The investment values the company at over $4.5 billion and brings its total capital raised in 2026 to more than $1.2 billion.

The company unveiled Synchronicity, a planned constellation of 737 satellites equipped with AI capabilities for commercial and defense missions. This project follows the successful launch and operation of the Element-1 satellite.

CesiumAstro is investing $500 million over five years to expand its Austin headquarters, including the acquisition of 270,000 square feet of manufacturing space. The company plans to increase its local workforce to over 1,000 employees by 2030.

The funding round included participation from Insight Partners, Sands Capital, Sumitomo Corporation of Americas, Woven Capital, Incharge Capital, Magnetar, AV, and NewSpace Capital. Additionally, the company secured $100 million in debt financing from EXIM and JPMorgan.

The company has completed three strategic acquisitions in the past 12 months: Jariet Technologies, 1Aardvark, and Vidrovr. These additions integrate semiconductor, mission software, and AI capabilities into the company's vertically integrated technology stack.
