The Russian company Bureau 1440 has submitted a filing to the International Telecommunication Union to register a new low-Earth orbit satellite constellation named Rassvet-4. The project involves deploying 374 satellites to provide data transmission services.
The new constellation will be organized into 17 orbital planes, with 22 satellites in each plane. The operational altitude for these spacecraft is set at approximately 800 kilometers. Each Rassvet-4 unit will be equipped with 12 antenna beams, comprising seven transmitting and five receiving channels.
As of November 2026, the company has already launched 32 satellites of the previous Rassvet-3 generation, which were deployed in batches of 16. While technical details regarding satellite mass and transmitter power remain undisclosed, the new generation is expected to eventually integrate with or replace the existing infrastructure.
