CATL has introduced Tener+, an industrial energy storage system designed for 25 years of operation without significant capacity degradation. Each container holds up to 9 MWh of energy, which the company claims reduces the number of required containers by 40% compared to traditional solutions. This design lowers installation complexity, cabling needs, and the overall footprint for large-scale grid projects.

The system features specialized cells and a thermal management design that directs hot air upward, preventing heat buildup in adjacent equipment. This allows the system to maintain rated power in high-temperature environments. Additionally, multiple containers can be commissioned simultaneously through a single control interface.

Tener+ expands CATL's industrial storage portfolio, which began with the 6.25 MWh Tener system in 2024 and the 9 MWh Tener Stack in May 2025. At the All Energy Australia 2026 exhibition, the company also debuted the Tener Sodium system, which utilizes sodium-ion batteries and offers a capacity exceeding 30 MWh.

CATL currently holds approximately 27% of the global industrial energy storage market. In Australia alone, the company's installed storage capacity has surpassed 17 GWh. With these new product releases, CATL aims to strengthen its market position against competitors like BYD.
