CATL has launched direct online sales of its 587 Ah LFP energy storage cells via the CATL Mall platform. The units are priced at $65 per kWh, with a minimum order requirement of 324 cells, or three boxes. This purchase volume totals approximately $39,500 for 608 kWh of capacity.
The 587 Ah cells are designed exclusively for energy storage systems with a 0.5C charge/discharge rate, making them unsuitable for electric vehicles. The product features an energy density of 379 Wh/L and a lifespan rated at 8,000 cycles at 25 degrees Celsius, maintaining 70 percent state-of-health.
Each cell weighs 10.6 kilograms and measures 73.05 by 310 by 221.53 millimeters. CATL provides a five-year warranty for these units and guarantees shipment within three to five days. The company previously began delivering these cells to large-scale clients in late 2025.
Access to the platform requires a valid Chinese business license, which limits direct purchases to domestic entities or international companies with local subsidiaries. Over 1,800 companies have registered on the portal to bypass traditional battery middlemen.
While the new cells are priced at a premium compared to the industry average, CATL maintains a significant market position. In July 2026, the manufacturer recorded an installed capacity of 31.4 GWh, securing a 42.9 percent share of the Chinese domestic market.
