CapMetro has launched two new park-and-ride facilities, Goodnight Ranch and Expo Center, in Austin. These stations support the agency's Rapid 800 and 837 electric bus routes and feature overhead pantograph-style charging infrastructure for end-of-line battery replenishment.

At the main bus depot, partner Camber Charging installed two 1,440 kW charging systems with 48 industrial dispensers. This setup provides a total capacity of 2.9 MW, enabling overnight charging for up to 48 electric buses at once.

The fleet utilizes New Flyer Xcelsior battery-electric buses, which offer up to 660 kWh of capacity and 320 horsepower. According to CapMetro, on-route charging extends daily operational time from 8 hours to 20–22 hours, supporting service intervals of 10–15 minutes.

Camber Charging manages the infrastructure across all three locations, providing preventive maintenance, energy management software, and remote diagnostic services.
