BYD has launched the updated Seagull in China. The vehicle has grown in size, now measuring 4205 mm in length, 1810 mm in width, and 1570 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2650 mm. The electric motor power has been increased to 95 kW, and the car now features rear-wheel drive with an independent multilink suspension.

The vehicle is available with battery capacities of 30.1 kWh and 39.2 kWh, offering CLTC ranges of 320 km and 420 km, respectively. A key feature is the new Flash Charging capability, which allows the battery to charge from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes and 10% to 97% in 9 minutes.

BYD has deployed 12,165 Flash Charging stations this year and aims to reach 20,000 by the end of 2026. Buyers receive a free year of unlimited charging with their purchase. The new model also incorporates advanced safety features, including the LiDAR-equipped God’s Eye intelligent driving system on select trims.

Pricing for the new Seagull starts at 65,900 RMB and goes up to 99,900 RMB for the top-tier configuration. A 3000 RMB discount is available at launch. The base models include a 7-kW home charging station, while Flash Charging is standard on models priced from 75,900 RMB and above.
