BYD has published official exterior images of the third-generation Qin Plus sedan. The new model features a fastback design, a wide front fascia, and full-width taillights, with a new island blue color option available.
Regulatory filings from October 16 reveal that the electric version of the third-generation Qin Plus measures 4,840 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,498 mm in height, with a 2,800 mm wheelbase. The vehicle is equipped with a 100 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor and a lithium iron phosphate battery, reaching a top speed of 170 km/h.
The company is updating its sedan lineup amid declining sales. Total sales for the Qin family reached 207 589 vehicles in the first 9 months of the year, representing a 54.71 percent year-on-year decrease. In September alone, the family sold 23 472 vehicles.
The current Qin Plus lineup is priced between ¥79 800 and ¥131 800. The broader family includes the Qin L and the recently launched Qin Max, with prices ranging up to ¥143 900. BYD has not yet announced a launch date or official pricing for the third-generation model.
