BYD has unveiled official design sketches for the second-generation Seagull, also referred to as the Great Seagull. The new urban hatchback features a redesigned exterior with trident-shaped headlights, wide wheel arches, and a lowered glass line. The vehicle is built on a new layout designed to provide increased interior space compared to the previous model.

The second-generation Seagull measures 4,205 mm in length, 1,810 mm in width, and 1,570 mm in height, with a 2,650 mm wheelbase. This makes the new version 425 mm longer than the first-generation Seagull and only 65 mm shorter than the BYD Dolphin. The car is equipped with 16-inch eight-spoke rims and thin taillights.

The powertrain consists of a single electric motor producing 95 kW, or 127 hp. It is powered by FinDreams LFP batteries with capacities of 30 kWh or 39.2 kWh, offering a CLTC range between 320 and 420 km. The vehicle reaches a top speed of 150 km/h and includes a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor for the DiPilot 300 assisted driving system, which supports urban and highway navigation.

Sales data indicates that the first-generation Seagull delivered 74,087 units between January and August 2026, marking a 66.5% decline. The current model is priced between ¥69,900 and ¥85,900, which is approximately $10,440 to $12,830.
