The BYD Atto 8, known in China as the Tang L, debuted at the 2026 Paris Auto Show as the brand’s first European model featuring flash charging. The vehicle is a seven-seat SUV with a 2+3+2 layout, measuring 5040/1996/1760 mm with a 2,950 mm wheelbase. It includes a 136-liter frunk with a double-tap opening function and a projection-activated power tailgate.

Equipped with a second-generation LFP Blade Battery of 115 kWh, the Atto 8 achieves a WLTP range of 653 km. The flash charging system allows the battery to charge from 10% to 97% in nine minutes, or from 19% to 70% in five minutes. At minus 30 degrees Celsius, charging time increases by three minutes. BYD intends to install 6,000 flash chargers internationally by the end of 2027.

The SUV delivers a peak power of 570 kW (764 hp), enabling acceleration to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 240 km/h. While the European price remains undisclosed, the current seven-seat Tang EV is listed at €47,990 in Germany. In China, the model is priced between ¥222,800 and ¥272,800, with 4,426 units delivered between January and August 2026.

Sales of the BYD Atto 8 are scheduled to begin in Europe in the first quarter of 2027. The vehicle was introduced by BYD executive vice president Stella Li during the event in Paris.
