The Botsman containerization platform, part of the Astra Group, has introduced a new MCP server. This update enables integration between AI assistants and infrastructure, allowing engineers to manage clusters, applications, and resources using natural language queries.
The AI assistant accesses real-time cluster states, event logs, and application metrics. By processing these inputs, the assistant identifies issues such as application restart loops, reducing the need for manual data collection and tool switching during troubleshooting.
Security protocols ensure the AI operates within defined user permissions. By default, the assistant is restricted to read-only access. Any modifications to infrastructure require explicit administrative approval and follow established security policies to prevent unauthorized actions.
The tool supports various operational scenarios, including diagnostic analysis of failed deployments, status checks after updates, and general monitoring of cluster health. With proper authorization, the assistant can also adjust replica counts, trigger restarts, or apply configuration fixes.
