Multifactor has released version 3.3.1 of its Multidirectory service, introducing enhanced integration with Active Directory and improved group policy management. The update aims to simplify infrastructure administration and increase compatibility with existing corporate software.
A key feature in this release is the ability to initiate and configure two-way trust directly from the Multidirectory side. Previously, this process could only be managed from the Active Directory domain controller, making the new approach more flexible for complex or multi-domain environments.
The update introduces a group policy instruction builder, allowing administrators to automate application configuration and command execution on workstations. Users can now distribute files with specific permissions or run Bash scripts, reducing the need for manual configuration file management.
Multidirectory 3.3.1 adds support for LDAP queries using GUID and WKGUID identifiers, as well as the wellKnownObjects system attribute. These changes ensure that corporate applications and automation tools can locate objects regardless of structural changes or naming conventions.
Technical improvements include a corrected RSOP calculation, optimized computer account handling, and the removal of the SaltStack master push timer. Additionally, the update resolves issues with principal lists, user display in Active Directory snap-ins, and server error 500 responses.
