BMW has unveiled the iX4, a coupe-style SUV built on the company's next-generation Neue Klasse platform. The model will launch in March 2027 with the 50 xDrive variant, followed by a high-performance M60 xDrive version later that year. The base 50 xDrive model starts at $66 200, excluding destination and handling fees.
The vehicle features a 112.2kWh Gen6 battery, providing an EPA-estimated range of up to 428 miles. Its 800-volt architecture supports DC fast charging up to 400kW, allowing a 10–80 percent charge in 21 minutes. The car is equipped with a NACS charging port, ensuring compatibility with over 80 000 Tesla Supercharger connectors globally.
The 50 xDrive model delivers 463 horsepower and 475lb-ft of torque, achieving 0–60mph acceleration in 4.7 seconds. The M60 xDrive variant produces 603hp and 645lb-ft of torque, with a 0–60 time one second faster than the base model. Both versions utilize a dual-motor setup with electrically excited synchronous motors.
The iX4 includes the Panoramic iDrive infotainment system, which features a 17.9-inch central touchscreen and a windshield-width projection display. The vehicle supports bidirectional charging, including vehicle-to-load and vehicle-to-home capabilities, as well as Plug & Charge functionality across 10 charging providers.
