Bithumb reported a breach of its internal corporate system on October 27. The incident affected the DaouOffice collaboration platform used by employees for messaging and file sharing. The company stated that the corporate system is physically isolated from its trading infrastructure, and no user funds were compromised.

Bithumb is currently investigating whether customer data was included in the files accessed by hackers. The company has notified South Korean regulators, KISA and PIPC, about the incident. This breach occurred amid a wave of cyberattacks targeting other South Korean financial institutions, including Daishin Securities and Mirae Asset Global Investments.

Coinbase confirmed that contact information for a small portion of its users was exposed due to a security incident at its third-party analytics provider, Amplitude. The exchange clarified that its own systems were not breached. Coinbase is currently notifying the affected users via email as required by law.

The scale of the data exposure at both companies remains undisclosed. Bithumb has not yet provided a full list of compromised data or the specific method of the attack. Similarly, Coinbase has not specified the exact number of affected users or the full scope of the information involved in the third-party breach.
