Coinbase confirmed that a security incident at its analytics vendor, Amplitude, resulted in the exposure of contact information for a small subset of its customers. The exchange stated that this event also affected other clients of the vendor.
The company officially denied any breach of its own internal systems. According to Coinbase, customer funds remain secure and were not impacted by the incident involving the third-party provider.
This disclosure coincides with reports of cyberattacks across the financial sector. In South Korea, Bithumb is currently investigating a potential leak of user data, while Daishin Securities reported that personal and credit information of 38 490 customers was compromised.
Coinbase has not yet specified the exact number of affected users. In a previous incident disclosed in May 2025, the exchange reported a breach affecting less than 1% of its monthly transacting users, with remediation costs estimated at up to $400 million.
