Bain Capital Ventures has closed its eleventh fund with $1,6 billion in capital, surpassing its initial target. The firm intends to deploy the majority of these funds into early-stage startups at the Pre-Seed, Seed, Series A, and Series B levels, maintaining a strategy consistent with its 2023 Fund X.
The new fund focuses on investments in AI infrastructure, autonomous agents, physical AI, and security. The firm leverages the broader Bain Capital platform, which manages approximately $225 billion in assets, to provide portfolio companies with an extensive network and operational support.
The firm has a history of significant AI-related investments, including participation in Cognition’s Series D at a $26 billion valuation and Decagon’s Series D at a $4,5 billion valuation. In July, BCV joined a $120 million round for Norm Ai, valuing the company at $1,2 billion.
BCV also led a $500 million Series B round for Poolside in 2024 and supported a $505 million raise for Crusoe in 2022. The firm’s strategy contrasts with other recent market activity, such as Accel’s $3,5 billion global haul and Portage’s $600 million fintech fund.
