A study by Rockwool, now operating as AO R-Resheniya, reveals that 13% of industrial employees report nearly full automation of production processes, while 26% note active use of modern technologies. Additionally, 37% of respondents stated that automation is implemented in specific production areas, and 15% reported a complete absence of such solutions.
Data from Rosstat indicates that the number of advanced production technologies in the manufacturing sector increased by 24% between 2020 and 2026, rising from 154,300 to 191,700 units. Building on this trend, Rockwool is investing over 100 ₽ million this year to implement machine vision projects across all its facilities to automate quality control, sorting, and rejection processes.
The implementation of these technologies has impacted working conditions, with 20% of employees reporting a safer and more comfortable environment, and 37% noting general improvements. Conversely, 12% of workers feel that conditions have become more difficult. These changes coincide with a rise in interest in industrial careers, as job applications in the blue-collar sector grew by 34% in the first eight months of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025.
According to Timur Amirov, interim manager of Rockwool and CEO of AO Razvitiye Stroitelnykh Aktivov, machine vision systems enhance productivity by monitoring multiple parameters simultaneously and improving workplace safety by tracking hazardous behavior in real time. This allows for the reallocation of staff from routine tasks to other roles within the company.
