A Reddit user reported a warranty dispute with Asus after his ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4080 Super failed. The manufacturer initially offered a free replacement with a black Asus TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5080, which the owner rejected due to the color mismatch with his white PC build.
The user argued that the replacement should match the aesthetic of his original device and noted that the proposed model belonged to a lower-tier product line. Asus had shipped the black card without confirming the specific model with the customer first.
Following a six-week negotiation, Asus agreed to provide a white ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5080 White OC Edition. The company covered all shipping costs for the exchange, and the user confirmed that the new, factory-overclocked graphics card has been successfully delivered.
