Apple is preparing to launch a redesigned MacBook Pro within the next month, with an expected release by the end of November. This upcoming model will be the first in the laptop lineup to feature a touchscreen and will utilize Tandem OLED display technology.

According to Mark Gurman, the new MacBook Pro will see a significant reduction in weight compared to the previous generation. Apple has achieved this by redesigning the internal architecture, miniaturizing components, and optimizing the internal layout to improve portability.

The new laptops will continue to be powered by M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, as Apple reportedly intends to skip the high-end versions of the M6 series to accelerate the development of the M7 chip. The device is also expected to incorporate Dynamic Island functionality.

To support the new hardware features, the upcoming macOS 27.2 update, known as macOS Golden Gate, will introduce system-level changes. These modifications are specifically designed to ensure compatibility with the new touchscreen interface and the Dynamic Island feature.
