Apple has halted the development of a wearable AI device that was designed as a pendant or a clip-on accessory. According to Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, the project aimed to create a gadget capable of collecting visual data for the updated Siri AI assistant, featuring an integrated camera and microphone for constant interaction with an iPhone.

The company has shifted its focus toward integrating new artificial intelligence capabilities into the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, which were released last week. Apple is also prioritizing the development of new AirPods equipped with cameras and is working on smart glasses, with a potential launch expected in 2027.

In addition to these initiatives, reports indicate that Apple is exploring the creation of a screenless fitness tracker. This strategic pivot follows a broader industry trend where companies are attempting to define new categories of AI-powered hardware, though such efforts have seen mixed results among competitors in the market.
