Apple is preparing to launch its first smart home hub, reportedly named HomeView. According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, the device is expected to debut at the Welcome Home event on October 13, with shipments scheduled to begin in November.
The hardware design features a floating display mounted on a speaker base, reminiscent of the iMac G4. The device will be powered by the A18 chip and will be available in four colors: space gray, silver, starlight, and pink. A wall-mount version will also be offered in space gray and silver.
The hub centers on AI-powered Siri for voice interaction. While it runs native Apple applications, it will not support the App Store. Users may be able to cast third-party app widgets from their iPhones onto the device display.
