Apple has unveiled the Home Collection, a new line of smart home devices developed in partnership with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. The lineup includes indoor and outdoor cameras, a video doorbell, a smart lock, and two thermostats, all designed for integration with the Apple Home ecosystem.
The smart lock, priced at $349, features UWB technology for hands-free unlocking and supports Apple Home Key. It utilizes the Matter-over-Thread protocol and will be available in the US and Canada starting in December. Two thermostats, one from LG and one from Schneider Electric, are also launching in December for $199 each.
The video doorbell, priced at $249, features dual 2.5K cameras and motion-activated lighting. Indoor and outdoor cameras are also part of the collection, with prices ranging from $199 to $399. These devices support HomeKit Secure Video and will be released in the US, Canada, and the UK.
The collection is managed via the Apple Home app, with setup facilitated by iPhone proximity using Bluetooth and NFC. Data privacy is maintained through end-to-end encryption and local processing on the Apple Home Hub. Additionally, the new HomeView smart display allows users to monitor up to nine camera feeds simultaneously.
