Apple has introduced the HomeView, a 7-inch smart display designed as a home hub. The device features a Liquid Retina screen, a 12-megapixel FaceTime camera, and an A18 chip. It functions as a Matter controller and Thread Border Router, enabling the management of smart home devices.
The HomeView is priced at $299 and is available in four colors: silver, starlight, rose pink, and space grey. Customers can choose between a tabletop version with a speaker base or a wall-mounted model. Both versions retail for the same price.
The device supports up to six user profiles, utilizing facial recognition and proximity to an iPhone to display personalized content. It integrates with Apple apps like Calendar, Messages, and Music, and supports third-party audio apps compatible with CarPlay architecture.
Pre-orders for the HomeView are currently open, with shipping scheduled to begin on November 13th. The product is launching in eight countries, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and India.
