Shelly has introduced the Presence Gen4 sensor, a device designed for smart home automation that tracks movement without using cameras. The sensor utilizes mmWave radar technology to monitor the presence and activity of up to ten people and pets simultaneously within a room.

The device is available for purchase now through the official Shelly online store for $84.99. The company plans to expand distribution to major retailers, including Amazon and Best Buy, in the near future.

The sensor features a 140-degree horizontal field-of-view and can monitor areas up to 650 square feet. It supports connectivity via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, and Matter, allowing integration with platforms such as Google Home, Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, and Home Assistant.

Users can configure up to ten independent detection zones to trigger specific automations, such as lighting or climate control. The device requires a USB-C power connection and offers adjustable sensitivity settings to distinguish between humans, pets, and household appliances like robot vacuums.
