Apple has completed the acquisition of specific assets from Samplab, an artificial intelligence audio processing firm. The deal, which was finalized in June, also involved the transition of several Samplab employees to the Apple team.

Samplab specializes in AI-driven audio tools, including software capable of MIDI conversion, chord recognition, and track separation. A key feature of their technology allows users to edit individual notes within polyphonic audio while maintaining original sound characteristics.

The transaction was not a full company acquisition but a partial asset transfer. Financial details, including the total value of the deal, remain undisclosed in regulatory filings provided to the European Commission.

Following the acquisition, Samplab ceased operations in September 2026, and its official website now redirects to Apple. The disclosure of this deal was required under the European Union Digital Markets Act, which mandates that designated gatekeepers report acquisitions related to core platform services.
