Anthropic, the developer of the Claude AI model, has officially initiated preparations for an initial public offering in the United States. The company has appointed Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley to serve as the lead underwriters for the upcoming debut.
Legal representation for the IPO process has also been established. Wilson Sonsini will act as counsel for Anthropic, while Freshfields has been selected to represent the underwriting banks involved in the transaction.
The company is currently managing significant legal challenges, including claims related to product liability and consumer protection. Additionally, Anthropic has paused the training of its next-generation model to focus on security and intellectual property matters.
Recent market estimates have adjusted the valuation of the firm to approximately $1.5 trillion. This figure follows a previous valuation of around $2 trillion recorded just one week earlier.
