Anthropic has officially filed its S-1 form with the Securities and Exchange Commission to initiate the IPO process. As of September 30, the company reported having over 11,900 customers who spend at least $100,000 annually.
The customer base includes more than 1,900 clients spending over $1 million per year, with approximately 250 top-tier customers contributing $10 million or more annually. Anthropic aims to retain these enterprise clients by bundling APIs, developer tools, and chat products into an integrated ecosystem.
To date, the company has raised approximately $12.7 billion. Key investors include Amazon, which has committed up to $4 billion, and Google, which has invested around $2 billion. Both firms also serve as distribution channels for Claude models.
The company faces competition from major players such as OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, and Meta. Investors are currently evaluating the risks associated with revenue concentration in large accounts against the potential stability provided by the company's ecosystem strategy.
