Anthropic’s S-1 filing reveals a strategy focused on building a cross-product ecosystem to increase customer retention. Over 50% of clients spending at least $100,000 annually now utilize both the Claude platform and first-party applications, compared to 30% at the end of last year.
As of September 30, the company reported over 11,900 customers spending at least $100,000, more than 1,900 spending over $1 million, and approximately 250 spending $10 million or more annually. Net revenue retention reached 900% by the end of the third quarter.
The company leverages Applied AI teams and the Ode with Anthropic venture to embed engineers within client firms. Additionally, Anthropic maintains direct contractual relationships with customers while partnering with AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure for distribution.
Financial results show revenue of $16.3 billion for the first half of 2026, compared to $1.2 billion in the same period of 2025. However, the company notes risks regarding potential compute supply constraints from its cloud partners, who are increasingly viewed as competitors.
