Amazon has unveiled a new line of Kids Tablets running Android with full access to the Google Play Store. These devices allow parents to restrict software and content through the pre-installed Parent Dashboard. Settings can be managed remotely via iOS and Android applications, including the ability to approve individual app downloads.

The tablets feature 8-core processors and lightweight aluminum bodies. The 8.7-inch model starts at $229.99, offering 64GB of storage and up to 14 hours of video playback. The 11-inch version costs $329.99 and includes a 2.5K display, 8GB of RAM, and stylus support.

Devices come with two case styles featuring Paw Patrol, Barbie, and SpongeBob designs, tailored for different age groups. Every purchase includes a one-year subscription to Amazon Kids Plus, providing ad-free access to content from Disney, Nickelodeon, and Lego.

The Kids Plus service now includes Storybuilder, an AI-powered tool that generates picture books and comics based on user-provided descriptions of characters and plots. Preorders for the new tablets begin soon, with shipping scheduled to start on October 14 in the US.
