A user on the X platform demonstrated a method to improve the performance of the mobile game Resident Evil 7 on an OnePlus 12R smartphone equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The optimization process utilized the DeepSeek V4.1 Flash model in combination with the Hermes Agent tool.

By monitoring performance via a Mac connection, the user identified I/O and memory bandwidth as the primary bottlenecks. The AI recommended compressing game textures from 4096 pixels down to 1024 or 512 pixels, which allowed the frame rate to increase from approximately 20 FPS to 30 FPS.

The optimization involved reducing the total size of the game files from 25 GB to 13 GB. This was achieved by compressing textures and removing non-essential assets such as audio and skin files. Additionally, the user applied Snapdragon Game Super Resolution technology to upscale the image quality from 720p to 1200p.

Following these adjustments, the game achieved a stable frame rate of 30 FPS while maintaining a power consumption level of 5–6 watts. It is noted that Resident Evil 7 is not natively available on Android and is typically played using emulators like Winlator.
