Black Forest Labs has released FLUX 3 Image Klein, an open-weights AI model designed for image generation and editing. The model utilizes 5.6 billion parameters, outperforming larger competitors in internal benchmarks, including Ideogram V4.5 and the previous FLUX.2 pro version.

The model is optimized for consumer hardware. In INT8 format, it requires at least 8 GB of VRAM and runs via ComfyUI or Diffusers. On an RTX 5090, it generates a 1-megapixel image in approximately 4 seconds, while an RTX 4070 completes the task in under 9 seconds.

FLUX 3 Image Klein supports LoRA fine-tuning and integration with standard generative tools. The model is available via Hugging Face and the Black Forest Labs API, with API pricing starting at $0.009 per 1-megapixel image.

The model is released under the FLUX Kommunity License. Commercial use is free for companies and individuals with annual revenue under $5 million. Larger organizations must negotiate separate licensing terms.
