Zuri-Invest AG, a Swiss asset manager regulated by FINMA, has launched a Physical Uranium Tracker. The new product utilizes tokenized uranium holdings through the xU3O8 token, which is built on the Tezos blockchain.

The tokenization process allows for smaller investment sizes and higher liquidity compared to traditional large-lot trading of physical uranium. This tracker replaces the firm's previous Actively Managed Certificate on Physical Uranium.

The initiative comes amid rising global demand for uranium, driven by the energy needs of the AI sector and the adoption of Small Modular Reactors. Current projections suggest that nuclear demand for uranium will double by 2040, while existing mines cover only 46% of that forecasted demand.

Institutional clients can use the tokenized structure for precise portfolio rebalancing. According to Zuri-Invest, the move simplifies the management of physical commodities, enabling near-instant settlement and reducing costs associated with physical inventory.
