The third Stacks Bitcoin staking bond has reached a capacity of 1,005 BTC, surpassing the combined total of the first two bonds. The Genesis Bond attracted 230 BTC, while Bond 2 secured approximately 505 BTC, bringing the total across all three periods to 1,740 BTC.

Bond 3 is scheduled to open around November 10, 2026, with a minimum entry requirement of 50 BTC. Participants can earn an approximate 3% annualized yield, paid weekly in BTC, by pairing timelocked BTC with STX at a 5% ratio.

Rewards are generated through the Proof of Transfer (PoX) mechanism, where miners commit BTC to produce Stacks blocks. Following the SIP-045 upgrade activated on July 30, 2026, bondholders receive priority access to these weekly miner rewards.

Institutional interest from entities like UTXO Management and 21Shares has supported the program. While direct participation is aimed at large holders, smaller investors can access liquid staking through partners such as StackingDAO, Xverse, and Esbee DAO.

The total commitment across active bonds has surpassed 6.7 million STX. Since the inception of the broader PoX program in January 2021, over 4,200 BTC have been distributed to network participants.
