Zoom Communications Inc. has introduced a Unified Context Layer, a shared intelligence system designed to integrate data from business applications like Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Workday. This layer links people, topics, and decisions in near real time to enable AI agents to act on meeting and customer interaction data. According to Chief Product Officer Russell Dicker, internal benchmarks indicate this approach reduces costs by 45% to 65% compared to standalone agents.
The company launched ZoomMate Agent Teams, which coordinates specialized agents to handle project tasks simultaneously. Additionally, the My Notes feature now supports workflow automation, allowing users to send summaries to external platforms. New hardware integrations include recording devices from DTEN Inc. and GalaxySailLab Inc.’s Bota. Zoom is also expanding its AI services to include voice agents, transcription, and translation, with support for third-party language models.
For customer service, Zoom is deploying virtual agents in physical kiosks and integrating CRM records across various channels. The platform’s new governance tools include sensitivity labels, deepfake detection, and centralized AI management to ensure compliance. Many of the announced features are scheduled for release through early 2027, with several tools, including the Unified Context Layer and ZoomMate Agent Teams, available now.
