Yangtze Memory Technologies Co (YMTC) aims to source 70% of equipment for its fourth factory from domestic suppliers. This target represents an increase from the third facility, where Chinese-made tools account for just over half of the equipment. Key local suppliers include AMEC, Naura, and Piotech.
The fourth fab is scheduled to break ground in Wuhan next year. YMTC currently operates two facilities with a combined capacity of approximately 200,000 wafers per month. The new plants could potentially double this output. The company also considers building two additional factories with similar production goals.
The third plant, known as Phase 3, is expected to start operations by late 2026. It aims for a production rate of 50,000 wafers per month by 2027, eventually reaching 100,000 wafers per month. In the second quarter of 2026, YMTC held a 14% global market share in NAND bit shipments.
Financial plans for the company remain uncertain. The parent firm, CCSH, has paused a planned IPO of approximately ¥33 billion due to market volatility and regulatory factors. The pace of future expansion depends on market conditions and the ability to secure necessary capital.
