BYD's Yangwang brand has set a new global speed record for production cars, with the U9X model reaching 503.17 km/h on public roads in Abu Dhabi. The company released a continuous V-box video recording the entire challenge, allowing viewers to observe the vehicle's performance from the driver's perspective.
This achievement follows the debut of the Yangwang U9 Xtreme track edition in September 2025. At that time, the vehicle set a certified record of 496.22 km/h at the ATP testing facility in Germany. The manufacturer has limited the production of this specific model to 30 units globally.
The company aims to secure the top position in both top speed and lap time categories for electric vehicles. The latest record of 503.17 km/h, verified in the official video at the 1:59 mark, marks a significant milestone for the brand's high-performance automotive development.
