XPENG conducted a test of its L03 pre-production prototype equipped with the VLA 2.0 intelligent driving system in Amsterdam on September 11, 2026. The vehicle is scheduled for an official release in Europe in 2027.

The testing took place in a complex urban environment characterized by narrow roads, construction zones, and high bicycle traffic. The L03 system demonstrated the ability to anticipate traffic flow, navigate intersections, and adjust speed for road obstacles like potholes and speed bumps.

During the test, the driver intervened three times: to adjust for construction, to bypass a stationary vehicle, and to close a gap in traffic. The system operates without relying on data labeling or a rules-based approach, allowing it to adapt to local driving customs through data collection.

The vehicle features onboard processing power that enables immediate response to inputs and waypoint navigation without cloud dependency. The interior includes a driver display, a head-up display, and a physical shifter stalk, alongside voice control capabilities currently being rolled out in China.
