DHL Freight has integrated the first European-produced SuperPanther eTopas 600 electric truck into its regular commercial operations. Since September, the vehicle has been operating in the Netherlands and Belgium, covering approximately 2,000 km per week. The truck features a 621 kWh LFP battery from CATL, offering a range of up to 560 km and a peak power output of 692 kW.

The vehicle supports charging via two CCS2 connectors with a maximum capacity of 660 kW, allowing a 20 to 80 percent charge in 38 minutes. Prior to deployment, the truck underwent a two-week test in Austria, covering 1,900 km with an average consumption of 102 kWh per 100 km. This test resulted in a reduction of 930 kg of CO₂ equivalents compared to the reference scenario.

SuperPanther has been manufacturing the eTopas 600 in Austria at Steyr Automotive since the summer of 2026. The company recently secured an order for 20 units from the logistics provider Gartner and aims to have 1,000 vehicles operating in Europe by the end of 2027. DHL Freight and SuperPanther have also signed a memorandum regarding future collaboration on autonomous driving.

DHL Freight currently utilizes approximately 1,700 low-emission vehicles across its network. The company plans to add around 40 additional electric commercial vehicles in the coming months. Furthermore, DHL collaborates with partners like Juna, which operates about 110 electric trucks, to expand its electrified transport capabilities.
