XPeng has been appointed as the secretary-general of the newly established Task Force on Exchange of Scenario-Related Information (TF-ESRI) under the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). This marks the first time a Chinese company has held a leadership position within the core framework of UN autonomous driving regulations.
The task force, co-chaired by France and China, facilitates cooperation between global regulators, certification authorities, and industry experts. XPeng will serve in this role representing the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA), working alongside the secretary-general from the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).
XPeng is actively testing its Turing AI driving system in Europe. In July, CEO He Xiaopeng conducted localization tests in Germany using the second-generation VLA model. Furthermore, the company's NGP system underwent real-world testing in the Netherlands in September, showing performance in complex traffic scenarios.
The company continues to expand its international presence through technical engagement. XPeng participated in the 19th informal working group meeting of the UN World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (WP.29) in Shanghai this February. The brand will also showcase its NGP technology at the 2026 Paris Motor Show.
