Chinese automaker Xpeng is planning to license its vehicle platforms and software to new international partners. The company aims to diversify its revenue beyond its existing collaboration with Volkswagen by targeting foreign car manufacturers, software developers, and automotive suppliers.

The technology portfolio offered includes electrical and electronic architectures, intelligent cockpit systems, Turing AI chips, and advanced driver assistance software. Xpeng also intends to expand into the Physical AI sector, focusing on robotaxis and humanoid robotics.

This shift follows a period of growth in the company's services division. In the second quarter of 2026, Xpeng reported a 93.9 percent revenue increase in this segment, reaching ¥2,70 billion. This growth was primarily driven by R&D services provided to Volkswagen.

The partnership with Volkswagen, initiated in July 2023 with a 5 percent stake acquisition, serves as the operational model. Current joint projects include the ID.UNYX 08 model based on the Edward platform, with future vehicles expected to utilize VW’s new China Electronic Architecture.
