XPENG has officially launched its new robotaxi model, branded as YOYO. The company has opened public registration for the service in China via invitation codes, signaling a shift from technical testing to commercial operations.

The vehicle is built on XPENG’s proprietary technology, including Turing AI chips and the VLA2.0 large model. Each unit features four Turing chips providing 3,000 TOPS of computing power. The system operates without LiDAR or HD maps, allowing for deployment across various environments.

The robotaxi is described as the first fully in-house developed model in China to achieve pre-loaded mass production. This process integrates core software and hardware directly on the factory assembly line.

XPENG’s progress includes the production of its first mass-produced robotaxi in Guangzhou in May 2026. By August 2026, the company secured remote testing qualifications in Guangzhou, permitting road tests without a safety operator.

The cabin is designed for passenger comfort, featuring zero-gravity seats, massage functions, and a large entertainment screen. Users can pre-configure settings like cabin temperature and fragrance systems through the registration portal.
