Xiaomi has opened pre-orders for the Smart Door Lock 5C Cat Eye Edition in China. The device is available on JD.com for ¥999.6 after government subsidies, down from the standard price of ¥1176.

The lock features an automatic locking mechanism, a C-class cylinder, and sensors for detecting malfunctions or door status. It supports 11 unlocking methods, including AI-powered fingerprint recognition, passwords, WeChat, Mi Home app, Bluetooth, and mechanical keys. Compatibility extends to Xiaomi smartphones, watches, bracelets, and NFC cards.

The device includes a 1 MP camera with a 160-degree field of view and a 3.5-inch internal display. Its AI system identifies visitors and monitors for suspicious activity. The camera supports color night vision, switches to black-and-white in total darkness, and offers three-day cloud storage for recordings.

The hybrid power system combines a 5000 mAh lithium battery, lasting up to five months, with four AA batteries providing an additional six months of operation. The lock automatically switches to AA power if the main battery drains. A USB-C port is available for emergency power supply.
