Wolfspeed has entered into a multiyear supply agreement with BorgWarner. Under the terms of the deal, Wolfspeed will provide silicon carbide devices for BorgWarner's 800 V inverter platform.
The partnership aims to secure long-term access to power conversion components for electric vehicle applications. BorgWarner will utilize Wolfspeed's 1,200 V silicon carbide technology within its inverter systems.
Wolfspeed is leveraging its fifth-generation silicon carbide technology to meet automotive power electronics standards. The company has completed the transition of its US manufacturing facilities to 200 mm wafers to support large-scale production.
